5 Tips for Mixing Metals

Mixing metals shouldn’t be scary. Here are five quick tips to help you mix and match metals for your new signature look.

  1. Balance your look by pairing warm and cool metals together. For example, if you’re wearing gold, try adding rose gold for a modern twist.

  2. Mix high-end metals such as platinum and gold with casual metals like silver for a contrast of luxury and everyday pieces.

  3. Don’t be afraid to mix different textures and finishes of the same metal. For example, try combining a matte gold bracelet with a glossy gold necklace for an interesting combination.

  4. Add interest to your look by mixing metals of different shapes and sizes. For example, pair a small, delicate gold ring with a large, chunky silver bangle.

  5. Play with the colors of stones and gems to add a unique touch. For example, pair a gold necklace with blue rhinestones and a silver bracelet with green rhinestones for a colorful and interesting look.

Still not sure where to start? Grab a piece that already contains mixed metals to pull your entire look together and then add additional pieces with any of the metals that tie in.
